Sapphira: learning the art of persuasion

On the fourth of July Safi and I were hanging out while everyone else was out running around taking care of errands. She was piddling around, messing with this and playing with that, but I could tell she was getting bored. I was watching an episode of The Mentalist on my computer.

Safi walked up to me and said, in her best preschool teacher voice, "When this is over," pointing at my computer, "we can go outside and we can swim in the pool. Does that sound fun?" She smiled an enthusiastic smile while gently nodding her head up and down.

I was so impressed that I immediately said, "Well, the show's over, and going out to swim with you sounds like a lot of fun. Let's go!" She jumped up and down, squealing, and ran over to the door. We spent the next two hours playing in the pool, and had a great fourth of July.
